Hi Ed,

I agree that caution regarding technology is prudent. If capital preservation rather than growth is a primary goal then defensive stocks is still the place to be for the short term. I looked at SUNW/GLW/NT a little today to see if I could pick some up at reasonable valuations and decided to pass on all three. So if the technology premium vanishes there is certainly some more pain possible in tech land. NASDAQ 1800 is probably possible if we close below last December lows. But at those types of valuations I would look for an opportunity to liquidate all my OSX and XNG stocks and transfer the funds into technology.

I think TA can be used to tilt the odds in your favor and I probably don't use it as much as I should (My Dad taught me that buy and hold was the way to invest and I have slowly started using TA to improve my returns).

I agree with most of your thoughts regarding the "posturing" that occurs on the thread. But it's good if they are able to use the thread to improve their self image (and I'm sure that it's cheaper than therapy <g>).

Best Regards,
Area51
