Thunderwood Resources Inc. - Additional Results From
On-Going Drill Program on Black Hawk's Vogel Property
TORONTO, ONTARIO--Thunderwood Resources Inc. announces that
significant gold mineralization, including 17.5 g/t over 2.9
meters, 15.2 g/t over 1.0 meter, 10.2 g/t over 1.0 meter, 9.1 g/t
over 1.0 meter, 10.4 g/t over 2.0 meters and 15.7 g/t over 2.0
meters, continues to be intersected in the first 5 of 11 holes of
a current in-fill diamond drill program being conducted by Kinross
Gold Corporation on Black Hawk Mining Inc.'s Vogel Property which
is located in Hoyle Township just east of Timmins, Ontario. In
addition, the last hole of a first phase deep drilling program
intersected 8.4 g/t Au over 11.0 meters, including 26.4 g/t Au
over 2.0 meters at a vertical depth of 717.0 meters. Thunderwood
is currently earning a 17.5 percent interest in the Vogel Property
under the terms of an agreement with Kinross (see Table 1).
Previous drilling by Kinross on the Vogel Property outlined a
drill-inferred resource of approximately 1,578,000 tonnes at an
average grade of 8.22 g/t Au (417,000 ounces) within the V-IS,
V-IN, V-2 and V-4 Zones. This resource was calculated by Kinross
using a 3.0 g/t Au cut-off to a vertical depth of 320 meters on
the V-2, V-IS and V-IN Zones and 470 meters on the V-4 Zone.
The current results are extremely encouraging in that the shallow
in-fill holes are providing greater confidence in the grades and
continuity of the gold-bearing zones. In addition, the deep
intersection in hole 6437 greatly enhances the possibility of
expanding gold resources at depths beyond 700 meters on the Vogel
Property.
The current $600,000 program has been planned primarily to further
evaluate the area for a proposed bulk sample on the 240 meter
level and assess the area of access from Kinross' Bell Creek Mine
to the Vogel Property.
