it's impossible to ever have a clear as a bell signal of capitulation that is accepted by most Market participants.

Suspect that my comments about a "slam dunk" were intended in a more light-hearted vein as evidenced by the inclusion of a <gg>, than you may have realized. Tend to agree that popularity vitiates the usefulness of a TA technique.

shorter time horizon used by most MDD traders

I also work primarily in a somewhat longer timescale than is commonly exhibited here. Probably why I find the info available here so valuable. I hope you had the opportunity to see Dick Arms on CNBC on Friday. Again a timescale problem. He was calling for an IT bullish market turn. The failure of Ron Insana (and others here on SI) to understand the IT nature of the call, led to unwarranted criticism. IMO both the timing of the turn he is calling for and the duration of the resulting move, are simply on a longer timescale than his critics realized.

All JMO, and I appreciate you sharing your sentiment conclusions.
