When I noticed the flurry of activity on this thread, I should have realized that there was a grub contest on. Grub contests and brawls are the only things that generate so much activity so fast. Since this is a moderated thread, it couldn't have been a brawl.

I feel really out of it. People make vague references to historical feuds and clusters. It's all very bewildering when you don't have a program. I see people reacting all out of proportion sometimes and forget that there might be some history they're reacting to. Either that or they're just nuts. No way to know. Kind of like tuning into a soap opera one day a week only. (I guess. I've never watched a soap opera.)

A couple of posts on the boxing thread yesterday got me thinking. First of all, shootie was talking about all the discussion going on in PMs and ICQ. I get the impression that some of the discussions I've been following have just gone off line. That's like watching a movie and falling asleep before it ends. Frustrating.

The other little insight came from (you're gonna love this, X) average joe. Of course we've all noticed how people like to talk but not listen. Yesterday I was busily trying to find a way to freshen the discussion and try to find a solution when joe casually says that maybe people really want a stalemate. That would certainly explain why some discussions just end. So why am I wasting my time?

I should be looking at the glass as half full, I guess. The boxing thread seems to have reached a place where the discussion is routinely civil. Maybe I just need a break.
