Topannuity, What's hard for me to fathom is the rate which quality stocks have given up their value. Take Glw. Last fall it was at 106 after projecting well for the next year. Yesterday it gave up another 9 to 33. How many more 9's are left for it to give up? Fiber optics will be with us for many years to come. Will Brcm, which recently was at 144, cut now to 75, continue to 25? Jnpr, Jdsu, Arba, Bvsn, etc etc. Are we free falling? If this continues much further, either companies will have to take themselves private (leaving a dirth of companies to bid up?) or what? Its so odd that the Dow has sat there with no depreciation (including IBM?!) and another whole group of companies are giving up 15-30% daily! If this thread has value (which I know it does), it should be able to better than what the analysists have done and give the average investor an idea as to when one should just forget all the noise and start building positions. I do agree with your friends that we likely need a final blowoff day soon. An exhaustion sell off for a day or two. And then the confidence to start building positions. Right now I'm sick of buying the dips. Its like there is no floor to the market (Naz). Let me know when its safe to come out & buy. Meanwhile I'm taking my money off the table and burying my head in the sand<G>. Thanks again. Steve D.
