Agreed!

The most damning part to me is this:

****************

From a Rambus business plan dated June 12, 1992:
“Finally, we believe that Sync DRAMs infringe on some claims in our filed patents; and that there are additional claims we can file for our patents that cover features of Sync DRAMs. Then we will be in a position to request patent licensing (fees and royalties) from any manufacturer of Sync DRAMs. Our action plan is to determine the exact claims and file the additional claims by the end of Q3/92. Then to advise Sync DRAM manufacturers in Q4/92.”

DRAM makers say they were not informed of Rambus’ plans until after 1997.

********************

This shows a business plan based on stealing IP from a JEDEC forum that was in place to share IP. Highly unethical, offensive and possibly illegal. This casts massive shadow on any SDR/DDR related Rambus IP that follows Rambus's participation in JEDEC - which happens to be most of the Rambus IP.

If it is in a email from a person to another then one could say it is the person at fault but does not necessarily reflect on the company but Electronics News is saying this is from a business plan - if true, that is damning.

This can do a massive damage to the company in the eyes of partners, press and, most importantly, employees.
