I believe the big 3 have all committed to their primary cad systems for the immediate future. Ford was PTC's last chance and Ford selected SDRC's Ideas (Chrysler uses Dassault's Catia and General Motors uses EDS's Unigraphics).

This comment is in response to the comment by Brian about PTC's sales forces hurting resellers. I heard that PTC eliminated the resellers competition by no longer allowing them to sell anything except the PC version of PRO-E (typical PTC "aggressive" tactics). This would be like Ford telling car dealerships we'll start selling all trucks and SUVs direct and you can only sell Escorts. This tactic may have helped PTC carry it's profit curve for a couple of more quarters but I doubt the resellers were very happy about it.
