Peter - Re: "Didn't AMD when releasing the Thunderbird introduce different voltages for the lower speed and the higher speed parts? Applying the same logic couldn't it be argued that AMD was desperate with the Thunderbird right from the beginning?"

Not so loud !!!

The ThumperTurd needs 1.75 volts to run at 1,2 GHz.

That is OK - trhat is fine - that is perfect - it is AMD !

If the Pentium 4 needs to be hiked from 1.70 all the friggin' way to 1.75 volts to reach 1.7 GHz, then clearly, the wheells are falling off the chassis over at Intel.

Note: 1.75 = GOOD (AMD)

Note: 1.75 = BAD (Intel)

AMD Pretzel Logic.
