I wonder why, then, Foster DP is on roadmaps to come out at 1.7 and 2.0 GHz, on 0.18. If they do, any AMD server effort is trumped before the hand is even dealt.

Are you talking about Foster that came out in Q4 2000, as the roadmap said? Or are you specifically talking about 1.7 GHz Foster that came out in January?

I think these Foster systems barely keep up with the Dual Athlon systems with large cache, release in Q4 2000.
