Hi T, A thought came to mind as I looked around a trade show recently. I know that just a couple of years ago ALL the displays were CRT's or projection. Now there's many more flat screen displays and many more lap tops running whatever the display mechanism might be. Even in the face of additional expense, many seem to be choosing flat screen over CRT in many areas. Another item that I'd be interested in hearing about has to do with energy consumption. I know my CRT acts as a "space heater" for my office. I'm sure that HVAC contractors all over the country are benefiting from new contracts to cool office space filled with CRTs. Our local high school was so proud of their new computer lab until the end of the first day when the kids darned near had to strip to their undies just to sit in the sauna lab room. Nobody thought about the added heat load of a room full of CRTs. Now, considering recent scares in power generation, distribution, computer proliferation, etc. is there a clear energy savings using a flat panel display over a conventional CRT of equal area? Could this be an influence helping to move Flat Panel further into the mainstream? Best regards, Tom
