JDN--Yeah, I've heard the same said about rich people not paying income taxes, too, but the truth is that they do (thankfully). And your argument, even if true (and i acknowledge that there at least is SOME truth to it inasmuch as SOME wealthy can be sheltered from estate taxes) is one best made for closing the loopholes, not for repealing the tax. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater, etc....

Dear Ecommerceman: Just read your posts and since I skip around to interesting posts I must admit I am NOT SURE just where you come down on Estate Taxes BUT I want to stress AGAIN to this board, AND I SPEAK FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE, this BS about eliminating esate taxes will ONLY favor 650 megamillionaire families is BOGUS. THOSE FAMILIES are currently NOT paying any estate tax and NEVER WILL. How can I prove it? OK, KENNEDY'S, ROCKAFELLERS, MELLONS you see those DYNASTIES DISAPPAITING through estate taxes?? No, there are plenty of LEGAL ways to avoid estate taxes BUT it takes BIG BUCKS to pull it off. So, whether you are for or against estate taxes please everyone DO NOT BE BLINDED by CLASS WARFARE RHETORIC as to why we SHOULDNT eliminate it. JDN
