Well put Shack.I could get into a real discussion here as I have been in the funds business for over 15 years(pre 1987)but I will abstain.Not all funds people are painted with the same brush otherwise I would not have been in the business as long as I have. I do agree with Red's comment though regarding some of the fund companies.As an example, I attended a promotional tour by one fund group and shook my head and returned home in dismay for having attended the meeting and the waste of time it presented.The comment that was made by the VP of investments was that they were "value investors but also active managers"......Duhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!I guess that accounted for their dismal performance.My largest fund group is AIC group of funds.I like their buy and hold philosophy.They are not perfect but their approach is great IMHO. My clients have done well by them. The Osprey
