Tosco, Considering the map of North America in 1847, one would conclude that the present border is an artifact of an imperialism that cannot be maintained in anything but name. I will admit to being spooked on I-5 heading north from San Diego to Sleazeangeles and seeing a yellow-diamond warning sign with a fleeing woman with child on it. Talk about deer in the headlights.
