There are obviously a lot of flavors to the theories of those who believe in cycles -- you ascribe significance to the repetition on specific dates?, i.e. annual cycles -- why should periods necessarily occur in calendar multiples? Or are you mixing in a little bit statistical liklihood? Either way you are at least weighting some repetition on calendar multiples, no?

Cycles in buying and selling make sense to me, but I still question whether they have any predictive value that can be profited from ...

it seems to me that the mathematical ideas of fractals, self-similarity, etc might be more useful in looking at the markets ...
