Hello Elwood, hope all is well. Just returned from a day in New York City at the Trading Expo. I was under the impression that lots of traders got washed out over the past year, but I certainly could not tell that today. I expected a smaller crowd as compared to last year but the crowds seemed larger to me, the place was packed. Perhaps a new generation eager to take the market on. Some of the well known CNBC/Wall Street Week talking heads were there, I attended a piece of a tech analysis presentation by John Bollinger that was not too bad, and caught a bit of John Murphy. I smiled during Murphy's Q/A session, the first question was from a person who asked 'what should I do with CMGI'.... While walking around I saw Ralph Acampora at one of the TA booths, the guy looked a bit more 'beaten up' in the flesh, perhaps the last year has taken it's toll, along with the Ralph 'Make em poorer' comments I have heard <ggg>. Last year Compaq had a large display area featuring their workstations/LCD's - nothing at all this year. Perhaps a cost cutting move, who knows. Did not see any major boxmaker at the show this year, although several custom LCD array builders were there. It was nice to meet a bunch of traders that post on SI...
