Well whats wrong with people having guns, if needed. Also, this literal interpretation is not the legal interpretation. In fact according to the courts substantial regulation of guns is permitted and does in fact exist, although it appears to do very little good. "I for one in the year 2001 think this it is stupid for our country to be looked upon as barbaric by civilized nations that have abolished such foolishness" I for one don't really care what other "civilized nations" think. Hitler took all the guns in NAZI Germany. Russia under communism and Japan in the second world war all prohibited their citizens from owning guns. Now those are what I call civilized societies.
