ecom:the trouble with a govt subsidy targeted toward small family farms is that, though a nice idea, it would be a case of the govt giving with one hand and taking away with the other...pitting the small farmer directly against corporate agriculture, with its high powered law firms and million dollar lobbyists working on legislation to control water, prices, environmental issues, genetic engineering, etc. Guess which one of the above wins.
