Delbert, with respect to the auto industry, it would seem that the real barrier to using pure hydrogen as a fuel would be the complete absence of infrastructure as has been argued before. I also think it will be a long time before the average motorist feels comfortable driving around with a tank full of hydrogen. My barbeque makes me nervous !
I like the idea of a fuel cell that can run on gasoline, natural gas or propane, as well as allow the internal combustion engine to run cleaner (allows for a smaller engine to provide the same horsepower now that the electrical needs are taken care of, plus exhaust products such as carbon monoxide can be used by the fuel cell as a "fuel subliment").
I just hope that our company is not squeezed out by the big guys who have borrowed our technology for the last few years and end up modifying it to the point that they are not in danger of violating any patent protection.
