1. Certainly, the Fed could raise rate. However, I do not think interest rate alone is the function of a strong dollar policy, which Sec O'Neill has reitereated. OTOH, the current trend of the Fed policy is easing. Chmn Greenspan is on the record that consumer confidence is the key indicator to drive the Fed policy. Obviously, one can doubt the Fed is saying the truth, but I for one will take its policy to heart. It has given a signal. It has not changed its signal. One may second guess the signal at one's peril

2. The founder of the debt clock has essentially mothball the device. Again, this is contrary to one's claim the the deficit is growing. So, one has to substantiate one's claim the the national debt is growing.
