In a conversation I had today with a relative about CPN he said he was chatting with someone he invests with at raymondjames and they had a very cautionary opinion about Calpine. It was raised that if the US federal government ever introduced NG price caps in California that CPN could be very adversely affected to the point that the share price could be cut in half instantly to the mid $20 and for that reason they weren't advising anyone touch Calpine.

I guess I agree with the logic behind the reasoning for that persons caution. However I personally do not believe that natural gas price caps will ever be implemented in California under the current federal republican government in the forseeable future of at least the next 2 years. So based on that personal assumption, I still see reasonable upside to Calpine and think that California will be a short term benefit, not a detriment to them as others are now suggesting.
