You also told them you're long, they could care less. A better letter might be: Dear Sir: I just sold my $1MM gold portfolio because you idiots are too stupid to close out your hedging positions at such low gold prices. You have convinced me that you believe that gold is going to become even cheaper. Disgusted with gold, XYZ
