<< Empty your browser cache. Go one better and run Norton's Space Wizard. No point in defragging garbage.>>
I did a Search for "browser cache," and then just cache, and found dozens of them. I am not sophisticated about this. So I decided to run Norton's Space Wizard instead.
But my Norton SystemWorks Pro 2001 seems to have no program called Space Wizard. There is Norton AntiVirus, Utilities, Clean Sweep, Ghost....
Clean Sweep, which I've never run (I've just had this version for a month), "removes Internet clutter," it says. I wonder if this is the same thing...?
<<In Norton's Defrag (Speed Disk) click Properties button and select Options... Go through the choices and pick the most simple defrag. Once you get the thing to work, you can get fancy later.>>
I have, on Speed Disk, clicked Properties. There is no "Options" tab -- there are Alarm, Style, and Drive tabs. None of them offer a "simple defrag" option.
This is why I so seldom come here. I am fully aware I'm doing something wrong, but I've put these details here, humiliating as they are, to show you that i've tried.
And I do appreciate your efforts. |
