What advantage will the SludgePumper be at that time given that Intel will/could have equivalently fast 32 bit processors in Pentium 4 or Pentium 4 XEON flavours?

High IPC, high clock speed, ability to access > 4 GB of memory (in flat memory addressing), ability to run 64 bit code, competitive price.

It's true that Intel offers all of these features, Itanium can run 64 bit code, P4 has high clock speeds, Celeron has competitive prices. The problem is that these are 3 distinct processors, rather than one general purpose CPU - Hammer.
