Well put. But why is this argument never applied to the doctrine of political correctness that infects our schools at all levels far more comprehensively than any attempts to force the pledge, and threatens far more long-term harm?

My theory is that those who perceive themselves to be securely in power will tend to oppress in the direction that they find the easiest. And that lack of diligence by those they would rule-through apathy or intellectual sloth-leads to slavery.

Forcing the pledge on students is not today's danger, "Saving the Planet" is more likely to lead to the new 21st century Fascism.

A major political party got together at their convention last year-to boo the Boy Scouts. It starts in the smallest of ways...
