SS7 provides the backbone for the Intelligent Network (IN). Its primary profit potential, and the reason Microsoft wants to get into it, is that telcos, carriers and other telecommunication companies beliieve that the time is finally ripe for ISDN, which SS7 provides the backbone for (protocol). Now we know why Dialogic bought Dianatel last year!

Microsoft has a forthcoming announcement regarding their new communication server. If you look at MSDN (the Microsoft Developer Network CD), THE ONLY CALL PROCESSING BOARDS Y0U FIND MENTIONED ARE DIALOGIC. Whats more, the communications group is using DLGC for internal development. That explains why we saw a press release recently from Microsoft indicating that they had partnered with Parity Software and Dialogic for joint sales efforts and marketing. It probably also explains why DLGC recently came out with their "Reseller Edge" program. Microsoft has a new web site dedicated to telephony. John Landau, Dialogics chief technical marketing guru, has written an excellent white paper on the site regarding telephony. Check it out at

microsoft.com

MICROSOFT is not stupid....they know who owns the market, and they also know who has the best products. ANYONE with 1/2 of a technical brain does not need to be technical genius to see that DLGC has already won the war. Now we just have to be patient and wait for the announcements.
