Hitchens is proof that not all Leftists are morally bankrupt idiots. He reminds me of Hunter Thompson, when Rolling Stone sent him and Grieder and O'Rourke to Little Rock to meet Clinton. Grieder, predictably, burbled with glee at the wonderfully informed candidate. PJ, uncharacteristically, bent over backwards to be fair, and although not thrilled, assured us that the Republic would not be harmed by Clinton (he really disliked Bush, I think). But Hunter, well, he thought there was something so insincere and slimy about the guy, and that his entourage had a Mafioso quality about it, that he warned against voting for him. It was like he had this well- honed bullsheise detector, and Clinton was setting it off right and left......
