Doug: If it wasn't for tech, we would already be in deep depression due to health care costs...all the productivity gains tech can muster are swallowed and emerge as.... I would argue that medicine beyond a bandaid and maybe antibiotic is a productivity drag, given the large (and rapidly aging) population of the earth: why fix old when you can more cheaply have new? This is the rub...medicine is just a legal form of drug addiction...government should do all it can to reduce expenditures, not foster it...
