Bummer. I'd hope you'd change your mind in my example. The guy is really suffering and only half of him is left. There are no medics anywhere to be seen and he is 4 hours from the nearest field station. He's an enemy who is simply not willing to endure the pain anymore. You couldn't find the compassion to off him, huh?

I find it strange that people wouldn't offer the compassion they'd offer a dying animal. I know you are a hunter and I know you'd never leave an animal in this condition.

I'm sorry to hear about your father's situation with your stepmother. It is a tough call. Amputation is not much of a treatment. Major bone loss like that cases huge effects on your immune system. Then there is the pain. Doctors won't give her our best pain killer, heroine, because they are worried about the DEA. At least in the U.S. Everyone in my family is or has been involved in medicine. None want extreme measures to be used on them. They've seen people live the last months or years on tubes. Not good.

That's sad.
