Judy, I never use hibernate and standby any more. Had similar problems to yours and have read comments by computer gurus that these functions tend to be unreliable.

Totally agree,even my "deluxe"Dell keyboard Sleep feature works about like me,when it feels like it.:)

I set my PM to shut off the monitor and hard drive after 15 minutes of inactivity and have eliminated the need for screensavers.
