I was surprised to see the doubts expressed at MDT ability to grow. From what I understand , they are on the edge of a major growth spurt. In the past, their core business was of course, pacemakers. Now, some of their divisions that have been in various developmental stages, are finally getting ready to blast off and will not only start to pay for themselves, but will be contributing to huge growth.
I was told that their implantable device for intrathecally delivered medication will revolutionize care for children with cerebral palsy. In fact the orthopedic surgeon who was telling me about this, was telling me he thought they had to be a tremendous investment opportunity on this basis alone. I was completely taken off guard, having only known MDT from the cardiovascular standpoint. I am confident that this is just the beginning of a long rise for them.
