currencies are all about speculative flows...but the dollar has lots of negative aspects to contend with, the most important of which is that it is overowned, by both foreign central banks and private investors. no-one wants to kick off the eventually inevitable selling avalanche, but it will happen anyway...a few rats will want to be early birds and jump the ship before the others do.
besides, there is no other way of curing the chronic current account deficit...only a lower dollar can achieve that.
