Tom Brokaw made alot of money off the WW2 generation. They saved our ass but were not perfect. Most of them know that too. My dad claims that my generation (60's) had it much harder in many ways because nothing was as clear cut for us and we existed in the WW2 gen shadow.
The biggest failing of their generation was the failure to resolve the race issue in their time. Actually after the War they took backward steps.
