Yeah... it was specifically designed to operate from unimproved airstrips, even hard packed earth or grass, which the C-5 or C-141 couldn't manage. Uses the same engines as the 757, and possesses reverse thrusters and specialized flaps for STOL capability.

They are very impressive aircraft if you ever get the chance to tour one. Just absolutely huge aircraft!!

Btw, I'm surprised no one has commented on our newest spy story going on out here... FBI counter-intelligence agent caught spying for the Russians? Another Aldrich Ames scenario... Sheesh!!!
