I have never shorted any stock before. I have only been investing in stocks for 4.5 years, but I was highly tempted to short many like EXDS, AMZN, etc of course. Never pulled the trigger. What do folks on this thread think about shorting GE? Seems to me earnings yield is less than 3%, it will likely grow "earnings" in low double digits next five years if the economy stays ok. I can't imagine this company deserves a PE in the 30s. I wouldn't mind paying the dividend. It is the case that you get to keep the proceeds from the short sale in your account to earn money market interest? Thoughts on GE as a short would be appreciated.
