NT announcements at Cannes all Euro-centric

(NYSE:MOT - news) announced today at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes a non-exclusive global agreement to jointly market to wireless operators an integrated solution featuring Wireless Internet infrastructure equipment from Nortel Networks and Motorola wireless handsets.

The companies will also work together to perform interoperability, verification and integration testing of wireless infrastructure and handsets. Focusing on third generation (3G) UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) solutions, the agreement also includes joint second generation Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) solutions. It also calls for Nortel Networks to act as a channel to market for Motorola wireless terminals)
