Yea, somewhat surprising action at the open - perhaps this is the reason why per briefing.com:

09:56 ET Fed Rumors : Some trading floor sources attributing market recovery to rumors of an emergency Fed meeting. Though rumors of emergency Fed meetings are almost a weekly event, actual emergency meetings are extremely rare. Nevertheless, the talk is getting some mileage today.

Oh well, just an opportunity for some other trading profits. Always helps to have a plan, and adjust accordingly.

Bought MO at the open on expected NAZ weakness, added ARBA when market showed strength, shorted BEAS when market started weakening. Out all positions now with nice profits on all. Probably done trading for the day as lately I am finding that the best trade opportunities are those in the first 30 - 35 minutes of the trading day. Although with todays market - might get some added volatility which could present other daytrading opportunities. We will see.
