Hi Yaacov,

Still spooks me. Isn't this how 1973's data was? Low unemployment, increased energy prices, rising house prices in the years prior to 1973, increasing CPI & PPI, eventually a stuttering economy, decreased consumer spending, high unemployment, continued increases in energy prices and then stagflation hit. And the country struggled to get out of the 70's stagflation.

How is today's data different than the data from the early stages of stagflation?

I guess energy prices are key, which currently have not risen as much as the 70's (we would be at $3.5 to $4/gal). If energy prices increase any further, that could tip the scale in the wrong direction.
