John, I saw Jonathan Joseph on CNN Moneyline last night. He was negative on chips and Intel (surprise!), but not to the degree that I would have thought. He doesn't necessarily see a second half rebound, but sometime after that (didn't say when). He said one good thing: that Intel would get the P4 right in a while. Before that, he implied it was less than wonderful because of large die size and "exotic memory", obviously not liking Rambus. The perfect opportunity for piling on was there, with the Intel discretionary cost management program being announced. So CNN goes right out and gets Joseph. I was thinking, here it comes. But, wasn't as bad as it could have been, like I said. I wonder if Andy Bryant or any other Intel person appeared on TV yesterday about the spending move.

As far as a rebound goes, seeing more and more talking heads mentioning the P4, when it gets "right" and Windows XP. We shall see.

Tony
