My read of the situation is that AMD is somewhat limited as far as how many high speed Athlons it can produce due to the Dresden ramp, and the demand for these chips is strong. So there is not an oversupply of Athlons, and no need to cut prices any faster than normal.

The one area where AMD is aggressive is with Duron. There is an oversupply of those chips, and a lot of capacity to make more.
