I suppose due to out limited life span to that to think far enough out is considered non necessary.

It isn't possible and it isn't necessary to "think far enough out" in terms of macroeconomics. The free market mechanism takes care of these things. When we meddle or interfere we preclude the market from doing this and we make things worse. This is called, "pretense to knowledge".

On a microeconomic basis it is constructive and essential to plan. The big error in economics during the 20th century was to apply microeconomics to macroeconomics. In fact, there is no "macroeconomics".
