Either way, the real payee is the taxpayer. Many groups and individuals make themselves look good by giving away others money or money they have stolen. That is what tax attorneys and accountants are for. If you have to pay Uncle Sam one million clams, wouldn't it be better to make a donation for which you will get a deduction for and at the same time, generate a good name for yourself? The take is even better with stolen goods. "Big-time negotiators, false healers and woman haters, Masters of the bluff and masters of the proposition But the enemy I see wears a cloak of decency, All non-believers and men stealers talkin' in the name of religion And there's a slow, slow train comin' up around the bend." Oh yeah...race, what a concept!
