Don't make assumptions fool. I'm only reporting the news and have not pushed anything other than pointed out stocks that might move up. Show me a ADSL chipset, which doesn't include the ability of G.Lite.

Now read this so that you are current and not confused.

"Asymmetric Max. Rate Forward 723.2 kb/s or 721 Kb/s ?
Original Post: Asynchronous Channel rate (eGroups Msg. 81) Date: Tue Nov 9, 1999

On page 41 (Baseband Spec.) It says that "The asynchronous channel can support maximal 721 kb/s asymetric ( and still be up to 57.6 kb/s in the return direction) "

On page 65 in table 4.10 for packet DH5 it is shown that the Asymmetric Max. Rate (kb/s) is:

Forward = 723.2 kb/s Reverse = 57.6 kb/s

Which one is correct?

The response is that 723.2kb/s is correct. The DH5 packet may cover up to five time slot and 266.6 Tx/Rx will be possible.

1600 hops / (5 (Foward) + 1 (Reverse)) = 266.6666

So total data rate for fowarding is as follows:

339byte(Max Payload) * 8bit * 1600 / 6 = 723200 bps = 723.2kb/s
