I've just been looking at the '90-'91 recession (you know, the Bush Sr. one) in an old Value Line. From its peak in mid '90 to its lowest point in late '90, SUNW dropped about 60%. By the time the recession had ended in mid '91, it had regained all that value (although it declined again in late '91). Revenues and earnings rose YOY in each quarter (Q1-Q4 of fiscal '91) through the entire recessionary period. Bet you didn't know that. <g> Greenspan has been revered as a god, but he risks going down in history as being the person (with a little help from Bush Jr.) who precipitated the Second Great Depression unless he is able to somehow overcome the current irrational pessimism. I think I read on the MSFT thread that an emergency Fed meeting has been called. We'll see what comes out of that. JMHO, and not investment advice. Do your own research and form your own conclusions.
