Just Checking
Is anybody still following this stock? There was an amazing lack of activity (buying/selling) today for a corporation this big. I bought some many months ago- and am still waiting for something to happen. Is everybody just sitting until the breakup?

I'm reading releases about the the Surfboard modem device that they are selling. This seems like it would be a good product if it could deliver high speed internet connections through the cable box. What does anybody else think?

In addition, I was wondering what peoples thoughts were concerning HDTV. This seems to be a different issue than digital TV & maybe people confuse these mediums sometimes.

I recently went to a DVD demonstration, and although the picture is clearer than VRC, the salesman made it clear thet the 5" DVD disks cannot hold enough digital information for a HDTV movie playback. So in a way it's just a better version of the laser disc player. This leads me back to GIC- apparently the delivery of HDTV movies to the home won't be solved by Sony anytime soon (sorry if this argument is to simplistic). Is GIC going to offer a solution to delivering HDTV to the home? This seems to be the big step which could launch this company forward. What does anybody think?

Am I completely missing what is at stake with this GIC-stuck-in-the-mud issue?

thanks.. louis mason
