patricia "I guess that is why I am receiving this warning prior to deleting" not necessarily. some pretty dire warnings are routinely issued prior to deleting the most worthless stuff. i'm sure you've seen examples. in fact, based on your most recent post on this topic, i think the software company advised you to delete the desktop file, yet the warning from ms looked quite serious. :) mark
