One of the most beautiful paintings with words ever done. I reckon you can guess it is a favorite of mine since I picked up on it right away, even with a liberty taken with the words, and a mis-named artist. <g>
His parallel between words and painting had an effect on me as a teen, though. It was that song that made me understand that a song is a painting, and that in the paintings of someone such as Vincent, there is a song.
Elton is a musician. A great one. But he has never been the same since he parted from his poet, Bernie. It's rather pathethic that he would latch onto a half-ass, I-can-rhyme-a-lot-words, sort as Eminem. Writing stuff at 27 that has the emotional maturity of a 16 year old, is not art. I can respect a good rhymer at 16 who wrote what he does. But it's time to grow up. Why does anyone think that acting like 16, at 27, and writing like it, is good?
Anyway, I'm disappointed. |
