Note I did not use my disk told it was better to download the latest driver)and then updated to 256 colors Boom it froze... then again and again... went back to 16 colors and no freeze... I think it is the video card

I have found that whenever I tried out the 256 color setting it created a blotchy effect to my system tray icons among others.

From what I've read on the subject most tech sites recommend using 16 bit High Color.
