Lease is a rip off. I leased a brand new Jimmy, back in 1988. It was 22,500.00 on the lot. I leased for 4 years at 560.00 per month. Buy out was close to 10,000.

48 months at 560 = 26,880.00 + buy out.

I am going from memory here, so my numbers may be off.

In my opinion, leasing is the biggest rip off out there.

In 1994 I bought a brand new Civic Hatchback, paid 10,800, sold it 3 years later for 9,500 and they are still going for 8-9,000 in the paper.

Asian vehicles are the best for holding resale value. The quality is better as well. North American made autos are poorly built. You cannot compare the quality control in Japan to USA or Canada.

In my opinion.
