I for one believe that the political scene will deteriorate.... I suspect that several EU countries (France,...) secretely hope that Turkey will collapse, further weakening NATO for, remember Ron, Turkey is the #2 army within NATO (after the US's). The EU is conspiring the economic collapse of Turkey. Turkey's last hope of ever becoming a EU member are dimmer than ever.... I think you underestimate the presence of Islamist officers in the Turkish military.... A fundamentalist coup could happen any time. As regards Israel, I don't think the average Turk cares much about an alliance with "jackboot Israel"... Regards, Gus.
