As I told you SUNW longs two weeks ago they are having yield issues with the Ultra Sparc III chips, You can blame Texas Instruments if you like.

HP had a similar problem in the early 90's with the PA-RISC chips that they were fabbing at a TI plant. Very low yield and TI never was able to fix the problem.

HP swore off using TI to fab their future chips and now they are partnered with Intel.
